Centrex is a software-based business service that provides an enhanced dial tone from the Verizon central office to your business premises. Centrex offers a comprehensive menu of basic and optional features that are attractive to businesses with a minimum of two lines and, depending on service, from 30 to an unlimited number of lines.

- Basic Features — Selectable (generally free but customer must choose)

- Optional Class Feature Package (additional package of features that can be purchased)
- Optional Digital Feature Package (additional package of features that can be purchased)

- Transfer calls directly
- Connect callers with direct inward dialing - no receptionist needed
- Answer customer questions by adding other departments / personnel directly to the call
- Establish automatic call forwarding when lines are busy
- Enable direct call transfer to wireless devices when employees are traveling or otherwise unavailable
- Dial four digits to contact internal users
