Scheduling and Logistics

  • Upon completion of your order, you'll select an installation date and time.
  • Shortly before your scheduled installation date, certified FiOS® installers will come to your building to connect a fiber connection to your premises.
  • If your business is served by underground facilities, digging may be required.

Fiber to the Premises

  • An Optical Network Terminal (ONT) will be mounted on the side of your building.
  • Fiber cabling from an adjacent telephone poll will be run to the newly installed ONT.
  • It may be necessary to drill a hole to allow the in-door wiring to reach the ONT. In most cases, an existing utility entry can be utilized.
 

In-door Wiring

  • On the date of your installation, a FiOS technician will visually inspect the areas affected by installation and let you know if anything will need to be moved.
  • The technician will then verify that the highest-quality signal is being sent from your ONT.
  • The ONT will then be connected to the existing coaxial cabling in your building.

Set Top Box Set-up

  • The appropriate cabling will then be run from the coaxial outlet to your FiOS TV Set Top Box and from your TV.
  • The set top box will be activated and tested.
  • The remote will be programmed and the Media Guide, Widgets, DVR (if applicable) and VOD will be checked to make sure they are functioning properly.
 

Demo and Completion

  • Upon completion of the installation, the technicians will provide a demonstration of the Media Guide, VOD, Widgets, help guides and remote functionality.
  • All work areas will be cleaned up and returned to their original state.
  • You'll receive a receipt of all work done and any additional costs incurred as well as contact information for help and support.

Other Important Info

  • Please set aside at least four hours for installation.
  • An adult (18 years or older) must be present at the time of installation.
  • Technicians are equipped to perform a new installation if the existing coaxial cabling in your building can't be utilized or you wish to install additional TV outlets. NOTE: This process will require drilling into a limited number of walls.
